History

Crystal Brook Medical Practice began in the late 1980’s when Dr Richard Mackinnon came to Crystal Brook from England where he had previously been working. Dr Holly Deer joined the practice in 2013, Dr Kean Choy Chen in 2015 and Dr Fiona Forrester in 2015, with all three having been GP Registrars at Crystal Brook before Fellowship.

In 2017, the Crystal Brook Medical Practice amalgamated with the Rocky River Medical Practice, which is now known as the Laura District Medical Practice.

Both Crystal Brook Medical Practice & Laura District Medical Practice are accredited training practices for Registrars, Interns and Medical Students.

Accreditation

Crystal Brook Medical Practice & Laura District Medical Practice are AGPAL Accredited Practices.

Accreditation means that our Practices meet the strict standards set by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, acknowledging our commitment to safe, high quality health care. Our practices undergo accreditation every three years.
